Like the ColorMax 7, the ColorMax 8 uses a Memjet print head with 70,400 nozzles at 1600 x 1600 dpi (6 ips) or 1600 x 800 dpi (12 ips) and full CMYK color output (up to 16.8 million colors). It steps up in capacity, though: media up to 10.5" x 17" and 3/8" thick (enough for stuffed envelopes, 10" x 13" flats, chipboard, corrugated cardboard, cartons, and padded envelopes), with a top-loading feeder holding up to 575 #10 envelopes and throughput up to 8,000 #10 envelopes per hour. A 7" color touchscreen and up to 60GB of stored print jobs round out the control panel.
